Still top dogs: Joey Chestnut and Miki Sudo.
In 2018, Joey Chestnut and Miki Sudo filled their stomachs to the max and earned themselves another set of Mustard Belts! The veteran champions withstood tough competition and came out victorious in last year’s Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest.
On July 4, 2018, rising star Carmen Cincotti looked to overthrow the 10-time champion, but Joey was determined to add another win to his world-renowned competitive eating résumé. Not only did he win his 11th title, but he broke his own world record, eating 74 hot dogs in 10 minutes. This unbelievable performance only further solidified his place in Nathan’s Famous history.
On the women’s side, Miki would not be denied her title. Despite the high heat, she was able to fend off the hungry competition of Michelle Lesco and Juliet Lee. With this victory, Miki brought home her fifth consecutive title.

Fun fact: The former construction manager turned pro eater has made a career out of bulldozing the competition. From hot dogs, to apple pie, to burritos, he holds 40 eating records! The only thing he won’t touch? Kale.
It was another dominant performance from Miki! She continues to set Coney Island records as the only woman to be a five-peat champion. Cheers to our champion, Miki!
Fun fact: Joey “Jaws” Chestnut. Matt “Megatoad” Stonie. Sonya “The Black Widow” Thomas. Miki Sudo. Of all the elite Nathan’s eaters, she’s the only one without a nickname. “Never have. Never will,” she says. We can respect that.
